DESCRIPTION:In the context of serious or life-threatening illness/frailty\, this evidence-based and experiential learning advanced communication skills course aims to provide opportunity to: \n\nExplore\, share and develop skills\, knowledge and confidence in managing aspects of communication in practice that can often feel\, challenging or complex\nExamples might include: information giving (tailoring information to individual need\, giving complex information\, communicating decisions\, breaking bad news); responding honestly and openly to people’s expectations; responding to people who are distressed\, including anger.\n\nThis course is relevant for senior/experienced Health & Social Care Professionals\, who wish to enhance personal knowledge\, skills & confidence in patient\, family or colleague conversations that are important or can often feel difficult\, complex or highly emotive. \n\nDate/Time: \n7 February 2024 – 8 February 2024 \n\nDuration: \n2 Day LIVE Online Interactive Workshop: \n7th and 8th February 2024 \nPlease note\, that 4 weeks prior to the two day live workshop\, you will also be required to participate in the following: \n2-3 hours of e-learning \nA 1-1 meeting with a course facilitators to discuss your learning hopes and needs that we can work through together in exploratory role-play on the workshop days.
