SUMMARY:Supporting your patients to adjust and adapt to their diagnosis of breast cancer
DESCRIPTION:In this webinar\, counsellor Jo Lawrance will look at how you can support your patients to adjust and adapt following a diagnosis of breast cancer\, both primary and metastatic. \nThe webinar will include the differences between ‘adjusting’ and ‘adapting’\, the impact a diagnosis has on individuals\, how they may cope with news that changes their world and their thoughts and feelings at this time\, as well as thinking about beginning to set new goals going forward. \nWith a background in breast cancer nursing\, Jo has previously worked alongside psychology colleagues to set up and run a therapy service for cancer patients and their family members. She qualified as a facilitator and trainer for communication skills training workshops and has been a facilitator for breast cancer patient groups. Jo is currently one of our Living with Secondary Breast Cancer service therapists and now also practices in a hospice setting in the South West.
