Developing knowledge and confidence in general haematology care across all settings

Overview

Here at the Christie Haematology at Satellite Centres we deal with a range of Haematology issues covering blood morphology, haemostasis, ITP, Lymphadenopathy, Haemoglobinopathy and all associated symptoms. This study day will give delegates an understanding how blood functions, how it is produced and various pathologies associated with haematology and will highlight common conditions treated such as anaemias, blood cancers, bleeding and clotting disorders.

Intended Audience

Primary Care – GP`s, District Nurse, community team ( IV teams)

Secondary Care- ward / junior Drs, nurses, AHP’s, CNS teams

Tertiary Care- newly qualified nurses, AHP’s, refresher for existing staff

Also, any other healthcare professionals interested in the different general haematology pathways

Venue Information

The Christie Education Centre is located on the 2nd floor in Dept 17 of the main hospital and can be accessed by stairs or lift. Toilets are also on this floor including an accessible toilet. The auditorium has a hearing loop available and ramp access. A prayer room is available and close by. We want everyone attending our event in person to have the best possible experience.
